Low FODMAP Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie

Missed out on chocolate covered strawberries on Valentine’s Day? Try this smoothie!

I don’t typically make smoothies with chocolate because I’m not a fan of chocolate protein powders and I usually get my chocolate fix other ways. But apparently I have been missing out because this is DELISH!

I used cacao powder and nibs and it came it perfect. Chocolate (or cacao) can be high or low FODMAP depending on the form of chocolate and the portion size. You need to get up to over a few ounces for cacao powder to be considered high.

On to the recipe!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1 cup frozen strawberries
5oz vanilla Lactose free yogurt (can substitute plant based)
2 Tbsp hemp seeds
1 Tbsp cacao powder
1 tsp cacao nibs
Sprinkle of cinnamon

Directions:
1. Mix in high speed blender.
2. Add more liquid depending on preferred consistency.
3. Enjoy!
